#10: A House Full of Memories

Photographs of Helen’s husband were everywhere.
One stood beside the telephone. Another hung over the fireplace. Family pictures filled a shelf in the living room.
Sophie often paused near them.
Once, Helen found her holding a framed photograph taken many years earlier. Her husband looked young in it, with thick hair and a wide smile.
Sophie put it down quickly.
“He looks kind,” she said.
Helen smiled.
“He could be, when he wasn’t being stubborn.”
