#48: Smokey Robinson & Frances Glandney
Long after helping define the sound of Motown, Smokey Robinson found lasting love with Frances Glandney. The legendary singer-songwriter, known for The Miracles, “Tracks of My Tears,” and “Cruisin’,” was in his early 60s when they married. Before Frances, he had been married to Claudette Rogers Robinson for nearly three decades.

Frances brought a more private, settled chapter into Smokey’s life after years of fame, touring, and personal change. Their marriage began in 2002 and has lasted for more than 20 years. Today, they are still together, sharing a quieter life while Smokey remains celebrated as one of soul music’s great voices.
