Izaak Theo Adu-Watts was born in 1996 to British-Nigerian singer Sade Adu and Jamaican music producer Bob Morgan. He is Sade’s only child and grew up largely outside the constant celebrity spotlight, even though his mother was one of the most distinctive and private music stars of her generation.

Izaak publicly came out as transgender in 2016 and later shared parts of his transition on social media. In 2019, he thanked Sade after completing a major stage of his medical transition. Years later, Sade released “Young Lion,” a song reported as a tribute to her son.
