#49: Manuel Tadros’ Gay Son Xavier
Xavier Dolan was born on March 20, 1989, in Montreal, Quebec, to Geneviève Dolan and actor-singer Manuel Tadros. His parents divorced when he was two, and he was raised mainly by his mother in suburban Montreal. Xavier began acting as a child, including commercials and voice work, before becoming a filmmaker.

Xavier has publicly identified as gay, and his first feature, I Killed My Mother, was described as semi-autobiographical. Rather than one widely reported coming-out announcement, his sexuality became part of his public profile as his films explored young queer identity, desire, family tension, and complicated mother-son relationships.
