#9: Snarling or Showing Teeth
A snarling dog may curl their lips, wrinkle their muzzle, and expose their teeth as a warning. This behavior usually means the dog feels threatened, frightened, protective, or extremely uncomfortable. Snarling can happen before lunging or biting if the warning signs are ignored.

Do not yell at, punish, or challenge the dog. Stay calm and slowly create distance without sudden movements. Avoid touching the dog or trying to force interaction. If snarling happens repeatedly around people, food, toys, or certain situations, seek help from a veterinarian or qualified behavior professional.
