#36: Nipping at Hands or Clothing
Nipping happens when a dog grabs at hands, sleeves, pants, or clothing with their mouth. Some dogs nip during rough play, excitement, fear, or frustration, while others may do it to control movement. Although it may seem harmless at first, nipping can escalate into more serious biting behavior.

Stop play or interaction immediately if a dog starts nipping. Avoid yelling, hitting, or encouraging rough games that increase excitement. Stay calm and redirect the dog toward appropriate toys or activities instead. If nipping happens frequently, especially around children or strangers, seek help from a qualified trainer or behavior professional.
