#53: Sudden Behavior Changes Toward Familiar People
A dog that suddenly becomes aggressive, fearful, or defensive toward familiar people may be reacting to pain, illness, stress, anxiety, or neurological problems. Warning signs can include growling, snapping, avoiding touch, or acting unusually tense around people they normally trust.

Do not punish the behavior or assume the dog is being stubborn. Pay attention to possible medical causes, especially if the change appeared suddenly. Give the dog space and avoid stressful interactions until they can be evaluated. A veterinary exam is important to rule out pain or underlying health problems.
