“An emperor will be born near Italy, who will cost the Empire dear. … he will be found less a prince than a butcher.” This verse is often linked to Napoleon Bonaparte, one of history’s most famous leaders.

Napoleon was born in Corsica, close to Italy, and rose to power during the chaos of the French Revolution. He crowned himself Emperor of France and led military campaigns across Europe. His ambition and wars caused massive loss of life, earning him both admiration and fear—just as Nostradamus’s quatrain suggested.
