#12: Dawn Wells, Gilligan’s Island (1964–1967)
While Ginger represented Hollywood glamour on Gilligan’s Island, Dawn Wells offered the wholesome charm of Mary Ann Summers. As the sweet Kansas farm girl stranded with the rest of the castaways, Wells created a character audiences instantly rooted for. Her warmth, sincerity, and easygoing humor made Mary Ann one of the show’s most beloved figures.

Long after the show ended, Wells embraced her connection to the role, frequently appearing at fan events and television retrospectives. She also worked in theater, education projects, and charity work. Mary Ann remained a classic TV favorite, and Wells’ friendly connection with fans kept the character alive for decades.
