Felice Schachter, who played Sue Ann on The Facts of Life, has said she was initially devastated when she was fired. She admitted she took the decision personally and felt deeply hurt at the time, especially since the show was still early in its run.

With distance, her perspective changed completely. Schachter later said she “thanked God that it happened,” because leaving allowed her to have a full college experience. That path ultimately led her into television production, where she worked behind the scenes on shows including Law & Order: SVU.
