The Life of American Hero and Old Hollywood Icon Audie Murphy

Through FIPCO Productions, Audie worked on the independent Western A Time for Dying, appearing as Jesse James. His sons Terry and James received small roles, giving the project a rare family connection.

Production was repeatedly disrupted by financing shortages, two fires on the set, and scenes that were never properly completed. The film did not receive an American release until years after Audie’s death, and a serious legal case soon created even greater uncertainty.
