#10: She Lands a New Deal With Fred Foster and Monument Records in 1965
In 1965, producer Fred Foster signed her and Bill Owens to Combine publishing and Monument Records. The deal finally gave her another serious opportunity after the disappointment of being dropped by Mercury Records.

Working with Foster helped her strengthen her songwriting career while building connections inside Nashville’s music industry. The new publishing agreement also meant her songs could start reaching bigger artists and audiences, setting the stage for the first real signs of commercial success.
