The Life of Legendary MASH* Actor Alan Alda

In 2015, Alda was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He did not immediately share the diagnosis publicly, and for several years he continued working, exercising, interviewing, and appearing onscreen without making it the center of his public image.

The diagnosis came later in life, after decades of major career shifts, but Alda approached it with the same curiosity that had shaped his science work. Instead of treating it as an ending, he began learning how to manage what came next.
