#23: Court Trips Can Feel Like Military Operations
John Franzese Jr. could not simply book a flight and walk into court. Returning to New York to testify placed him back near people who might want him dead. Marshals reportedly used heavily protected vehicles and strict security measures to move him through the city.

At one point, Franzese was placed inside a fortified enclosure that blocked his view of the surroundings. The equipment protected him from attack, but it also showed how dangerous an ordinary court appearance had become. Even seeing the city outside was considered too great a risk.
