#16: Outdated Electrical Panel
An old electrical panel can make buyers question the home’s safety and capacity. Fuse boxes, undersized panels, messy wiring, or outdated breakers may suggest the system cannot handle modern appliances, chargers, HVAC equipment, or everyday electronics without risk or expensive upgrades.

Have a licensed electrician inspect the system before listing or buying. Sometimes labeling, minor repairs, or cleanup is enough; other times, a panel upgrade is the smarter move. Avoid DIY electrical work, because sloppy fixes often create more concern than the original problem.
