#37: Awkward Floor Plan
An awkward floor plan can make a home feel harder to live in than its square footage suggests. Tiny closed-off rooms, strange additions, pass-through bedrooms, or bathrooms far from sleeping areas may leave buyers wondering how their daily routines would actually work.

Not every layout problem needs major construction. Better furniture placement, clearer room purposes, improved lighting, or opening a nonstructural wall can help. Buyers should think beyond staging and picture normal life: laundry, guests, storage, privacy, and morning traffic through the house.
