Why These Dog Breeds are Blacklisted by Insurance Companies

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier originated in 19th-century England from crosses between Bulldogs and terriers. Initially bred for bull-baiting and later companionship, they are known for their muscular build, courage, and affectionate nature. Many enthusiasts praise their loyalty and gentle disposition with children when raised responsibly.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers are determined, strong, and can be aggressive toward other dogs who don’t receive early training and socialization. Their association with other “bully breeds” and their physical strength have led many insurance companies to consider them high-liability animals.
