#11: Fruit-on-the-Bottom Yogurt
Fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt looks like a convenient way to add dairy and fruit to breakfast. The colorful layer at the bottom, however, is often closer to sweetened fruit filling than a serving of fresh berries.

Many varieties contain a surprising amount of added sugar, which can make blood sugar management and weight control more difficult after 50. Choose plain Greek yogurt and add fresh berries, cinnamon, or chopped nuts. This version offers more protein and lets you control exactly how much sweetness goes into the bowl.
